Hi guys
Just got my new 2004 LC3...120 series....I serviced her at weekend and looking to change out the oil in gearbox and trans box, etc and looking for tips and advise on doing the job myself as never done it before. Also advise on changing coolant too..although the car has full history with it Gives me piece of mind knowing I have done something myself and know it has actually been done...any help appreciated |

What gearbox have you got? Manual or auto? If auto is it 4speed or 5speed?
For the coolant, drain the radiator (tap at bottom of rad), and the block (tap) on passenger side of block just above the engine mount. Ideally make sure you get a 6 sided socket securely on the engine tap, it's easily rounded. When refilling it's easy to get air in the heater matrix. With the engine running and hot disconnect one of the heater hoses going into the bulkhead (the cold one), and wait for coolant to spew out. |

Nothing special for the gearbox then. Make sure the filler plug unscrews before you drain it. Fill it so the oil is level with the bottom of the filler hole. |

Do I need any specific tool for filling the gearbox and trans box and axles or can you just pour it in. |

Manual box I don't have so I don't know.
Front diff you will need an oil gun or pump, and a 10mm allen key to undo the plug. Rear diff you can pour straight from a 1 litre bottle. Transfer I think you might be able to pour from a bottle, but I buy the oil in 5 litre bottles so need to use a pump. |
