hi all! I'm going to be buying a Landcruiser soon - I hope. Basically it will be for transporting my gun-dogs on shoots and to fairly local (say within 2 hour drive) events as well as day-to-day stuff. My budget tops out at about £8k. Parking space is tight at home so I have ruled out a 100 series. My research otherwise indicates a choice between a 90 series (Colorado?) at £2500 to £5000 depending on age & mileage and a 120 series which seem to start around £6500 - and a D4D engine has been recommended. It must be a keeper so need long term reliability but not really all the bells and whistles and definitely not so smart that I feel guilty taking it through tight tracks! Any advice much appreciated TIA  Smile

Both are good models for the type of usage you describe (internal volumes are more or less the same in both models, seats can be folded with ease etc.); D4D is the "newer" engine on the 90 series. 120 has only D4D as far as I know. The 90 series was sold in the UK up to around 2002, so the youngest UK spec vehicles out there are around 15 years now, so are getting on a bit. Personally, I would go for a "latest" 120 series that your budget allows. Always check for under body rust, service history etc.
