My 2001 Amazon VX has failed MOT and the main dealer is saying the suspension needs work/replacement parts which are more expensive than the value of the car. Great shame as it runs amazingly well and has been such a great vehicle and is so reliable. I know the guys at my local garage are interested, but any advice welcome on how to contact Landcrusier breakers who might specialise to either get it back on the road or purchase for breaking. Thanks

This is typical of a main dealer. They don't like working on an older model for fear of the problems which may arise for which they have not quoted and which you will not wont to pay for. Tell us where you are and someone may know of a suitable technician in your area.

I can recommend a good garage for a honest reliable opinion. My family run AP Autocare in Bedminster and whilst it’s not necessarily a Toyota / Landcruiser specialist they have worked on 2 of our family ones for the last 15 years and are very trustworthy and honest. Might be worth a second opinion before doing anything?
