Hi All,

Problem 1. I first registered as a member in Feb of this year under my full name of Dafydd Wynn Williams, but have since been unable to log in and it keeps telling me that I have used the wrong name or password. The "forgotten your password" choice doesn't work either as I just end up being told that is unavailable because my membership is inactive!  I have emailed the Administrator,as instructed, on 3 occasions for help in the last 4 months, but never got any response.
I have just joined again using my sons persona, which I why I am able to make this post.
I have been an active Lifetime member of the Isuzu Trooper Club site , ITOC, for the last 15 years without this trouble.
How does one prod the administrator in to life?

Problem 2. After being on the lookout for many months, in January I saw a 2003 diesel manual SWB silver LC, just what I was looking for. It had 130K on the clock, was advertised as having A FULL AND UP TO DATE SERVICE HISTORY and would have a 3 year warranty, etc etc etc. This was from a dealer  E.S.A.Automotive in Sheffield, I am near Bangor, Gwynedd. After a general inspection (no lift) and a test drive, I bought it.  It transpired that there was no record of any servicing since 2006 at 30k and no Warranty was given or taken out. There are several other matters upon which the dealer has been untruthful.
I have not had the vehicle on the road since brought home from Sheffield, until this week, because of the unknown age of the cam belt and unknown service situation,  when I had the local Toyota Dealer do a full  service and cam belt change.
Getting it up on a lift revealed very serious and general corrosion, to such an extent that it is currently unroadworthy, and certainly wouldn't pass an MOT. the current MOT was in Nov 2019. You can poke a finger through paper thin metal in many many places underneath.
I am having difficulty in getting Trading Standards to stir themselves, who are not contactable directly, only through CAB Sheffield, despite this being a clear case of Misrepresentation  on the Warranty and Service History.  I accept it is my own fault over the corrosion as I should not have bought it without putting it on a lift. The only reference to corrosion is on the current MOT which gives an advisory of "corrosion of the chassis but not affecting the structural stability" which is a serous understatement.
I have emailed and written to the seller claiming he should reimburse the cost of the service and cam belt @ £565 in-lieu of the absent service history, but  no reply until this week when Legal4U, solicitors from Tyne Side replied on his behalf denying fault but offering £200!

Apologies for this long story, but has anyone any suggestions on how I might proceed?

Try talking to VOSA. They take a very dim view of dodgy MOTs. The only problem is 8 months since the MOT.  A lot can happen in 8 months. You should really be returning  the vehicle as the condition was misrepresented in the original advert. I assume you still have a copy?

Did you not ask about history and warranty when you test drove it?

I have just reread your post. Having bought the car and then had it standing for 5 months, I think you will have very little comeback. sorry

Hi eurag,

I have a copy of the web page ad/description, which clearly states that the car had "fully up to date full service history" and describes the 3 months warranty, and it is on those 2 points that I am seeking restitution   I complained to the seller about these omissions immediately on the day of purchase and several times since. The solicitor now involved has conveyed the sellers offer of £200, or,  to "unwind the deal" so I have chosen the latter but not had a response to that letter yet.

I'll post the outcome, and hopefully continue my search for a recent SWB 3 door, diesel, manual  silver TLc, with a sound undercarriage! Delivery time of anew Commercial van is still in excess of 6 months (if your lucky) I am told.

The whole registration process is automated - You haven’t clicked on the ‘activate my account’ link in the email you get when you registered.

Maybe in your spam box?

Try the ‘forgotten password’ link at the login screen now - you should be able to get a bit further.
