Hi guys, Quick and easy question.......
Is the ACC relay supposed to be constantly energised? I'm a Hilux guy, so dont know way around these very well, working on a 00' 100 series for a mate that has a 2amp constant load on batteries, when i connect batts up the ACC relay clicks on, and stays on. (with ignition off, and actually unplugged so not faulty) with relay unplugged load goes down to .8amp, with i think is still a little high, but probably something to do with radio and clock being wired perminantly on, so not to worried.
I'd just to be able to rule it out, or need dig deeper into fuse box if needed.

Tony, I'm no expert on electrics, but having had loads of Surfs and a few Land Cruisers, I'm sure that the relay should not have energy until the key is turned, cant find it at the moment, but was sure I had seen a article on how to hack it so that it is live all the time to power fridges and things.

Hi
I will go with Andy, I would not think a relay is powered all the time (without Ign) so do some testing with a DMM and  check the wiring

Cannot find the article that I was thinking of, but found this   https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/power-outlet-mod.62495/

Lol, it’s best left missing...  Wink

Quick follow up, it’s solved, whoever installed the radio linked the perm 12v and the switched 12v lines, and turns out if you do this it energises the ACC relay and truck acts like key is in ACC position.  Rolling Eyes
I cut the link, and ign off current draw went straight down to 0.03A and relay clicked off.
👍

Just got to finishing installing front shock limit straps so new shocks don’t get pulled apart like last new ones  Laughing and he can have it back.
