Hello,
I've a 1999 UZJ 100 4.7 V8 PETROL/LPG and I've a problem.
few months ago I had to change both catalytic converters because they were damaged. In fact, an intense smell of gasoline came from exhaust terminal and unburned hydrocarbons ppm value at idling was too high. Soon after installing new converters, gasoline smell stopped and HC value decreased to 40 ppm.
But now the problem is coming back again. In fact, gasoline smell re-appeared, HC value is over 200 ppm at idling both on cold and warm engine. No leaks are on exhaust system, short and long Fuel Trim are regular and no DTC of ECU engine are deteched by Techstream.
In my opinion I should have to change both catalytic conveters again but what do you think about?
Thanks for helping me |

Try the simplest and cheepest things first, e.g, try fitting a new fuel filler cap, none of your EVAP system will work properly if the petrol tank filler cap is not sealing, as the vapors in your tank will not be going up the vent line to EVAP vapor canister, the vapor will just be escaping to atmosphere. _________________ I love my country, but I fear my government.
