Hi, I am very new to the world of Land Cruisers but have always loved reading about them and looking at them and i'm keen to buy my first one.

I am thinking about buying a land cruiser pickup to build a camper on the back (I do a lot of carpentry, so the camper i'll build myself). I am a surfer and want to do trips to really remote places where off road is essential. I have spotted one on e bay which looks good (forum wont let me put link on but its a 1993 land cruiser pickup on newsnow), but also looks like it will need a fair bit of work, engine, body work and chassis imagine. I am willing to do this, but it would be great to get advice on:

Things to watch out for buying vehicles like this?
Potential costs?
Are there any good land cruiser inspectors who can assess the vehicle?
Best places/recommendations to have major work done?
If was to do the mechanics myself, advice on tools/setup/DIY manuuals?
Recommendations for off road specialists for overland vehicles?

Any help would be much appreciated, very new to this so any general tips welcome too!

Thanks
