Can anyone tell me if an Australian spec (optional extra in Aus) auxiliary fuel tank is available in UK, how much it costs, is it "easy" to fit, and if the spare wheel needs relocating, please?
If the spare wheel does need relocating (I assume to a rear mount), where is the mounting kit available in UK.
or...of course, one could get the whole lot from Aus, I presume, or Toyota GB?
I fear my own optimism on this one!

Most of the LC's here in the middle east have the aux tank but for some reason the 2002 VXR's didn't! The dealer was not intrested to fit one and got excuses like the chassis is diff - bull! I got all the bits out of a junk car and fitting + plumbing was straight forward. The only glitch was the wiring as the existing loom was half there. Managed to find an auto electrician and he got it working but no fuel gauge - he didn't want to mess with the ECU. The spare wheel will fit in the same position under the tank. Another option is to get a massive tank instead of the toyota aux tank but that means relocating the spare wheel. |
