Can anyone point me in the direction on how to get my 98 Colorado sorted? There’s a loud banding likes chain slipping whenever you accelerate it’s worse under load. I’ve had a few garages look at it and it seems the problem is from inside the transfer box but that’s as far as I’ve got with it. Is there anywhere that rebuilds the transfer boxes on these or has anyone got one lying around in a garage that they’re willing to sell? Cheers for any help

Manual or automatic? Have a search on here for Bob Murphy where you will find a lot of info.

It’s an automatic mate but there seems to be some confusion with different people that I’ve spoke to as some seem to think it’s a different transfers box and some think it’s the same?

They are definitely different. Bob has rebuilt boxes in the past but you may need to search for him on another forum, not sure if he is on here.

I think that the problem was getting the new chains, as it was a Toyota supplied part.
