I believe that it would be better to sell the auto and buy a manual. |

Second that, conversion is poss but parts expensive and hard to find S/H, unless your lucky at a breakers, interior parts very costly new, manuals rare and mostly GX trim. |

Hello, I too am thinking about doing an auto to manual conversion. I read the replys you got, but there aren't many manual 100 vx's out there. I did a conversion an a Range Rover some years ago, but had some trouble with ratios cos I swapped the engine for a V8 diesel while I was at it. Does anyone now if the auto and manual box on a VX are pretty much the same as reguards ratios and diff ratios. Would the transfer box come off the auto and bolt straight onto the manual? Is the manual box out of a GX the same as the VX? Any advice apart from just wait till a manual comes along would be great, Thanks. |

For me, to drive with just a stop and a go peddle would be very boring. I want all the toys of a VX and leather. Maybe I'll have to make do with a GX and put some new seats in it!! |

Why change from auto to manual.
To be honest, a manual would be good for a small sporty car, but the 'cruiser hardly falls into that class.
I could never consider driving my LC120 with a manual box.
I think you must really want to change from auto to manual.
It isn't a small job, and I would be worried that once converted I might be disappointed, and lose a shed load of money. |
