The transmission flush is easy to do your self .

Drain trans sump and fill to cold level on dip stick .

Disconnect return pipe to trans, after cooler .

Start engine. Trans in park.

Run this fluid into measure jug.

Stop engine and top up through dipstick tube same amount as drained out.

Keep this up until you have changed your 12 litres or what ever you need .

Run up the road to warm trans .

Leave ticking over, foot on brake, run through gears , into park, still ticking over top up to hot level on dip stick .

Send me check for £80  Rolling Eyes

That's the way.

Leslie, could you elaborate a bit on the details? e.g. Do you use a hose connected to the radiator outlet to get the fluid into measure jug?

The total capacity of ATF is 18 litres IIRC. So 6 litres drained through plug, plus 12 l through hose should replace all the fluid.

Also heard a method where you connect a hose on the other pipe, going in to the trans, which sucks fluid from a pail.  That relieves you from the time consuming filling through the dipstick pipe.  It is also possible to run the engine until you see clean fluid coming out.

Lazy man's method is to drain 6 l, fill 6 l, run 6 min, drain 6 l, fill 6 l, run 6 min, etc, ad infinitum, or thereabouts.  Two cycles should change about half of the fluid, but you will never get it all changed this way.  The method from Leslie above is much more cost- and time effective.

Hi.

To drain more that 6 l, rise front end of the car. I did about 7 to 8 l but front wheels were more than a meter above floor. Don’t know exactly how many liters because it was all over the floor.
