Ok - so I'm a numpty . Did an oil & filter change on SWAMBOs Yaris, and managed to NOT ensure the receiving drum had a tightly-closed lid. Result - a nice 3 sq feet of oil-stained paving on my drive.
What's the best method / product to effectively and safely clean this up and dispose of it?
And yes - I'll check properly in future |

You can use dry sand. This may mean spreading it on, leaving it for a while then sweeping the oil sand up, then repeating the whole process - possibly twice!
Alternatively, get some cat litter. It's fairly cheap and seems to soak up the oil better than sand.
If it rains, cover the sand or litter with plastic sheeting to stop it getting wet. Also, water tends to cause the oil to stain the concrete worse than if it is kept dry.
For a final clean, use Gunk or Jizer as a solvent to emulsify the oil (leave on for half an hour) and then clean off with a pressure washer (if you have one) or just a domestic hosepipe.
This may not get the concrete pristine clean because the dirt in oil from a diesel engine seems to be particularly good at leaving a black stain but it should get most of it off.

Cheers - will have a go at that this evening. My daughter may protest the theft of her cat's litter, but what the heck - I paid for it |

Willy is right, cat litter is more or less the same as the stuff that they sell to industry but you have keep it dry or it turns into glue!
