Hi,
Been reading a few posts and this looks like a good forum to chat all things Toyota.
This is my 1st post so please be kind.
Could anyone offer any advice to a few problems I am having with my 98 100 series 4.2TD.
All advice welcome.
Cheers |

Hi,joinerman thanks for the welcome and you're quite right the questions would be a good idea lol.The most pressing issue i have at the moment is to try to find a more reasonable price than the £2400 that my main dealer want to charge me for the four levelling spheres.I have just had 2 new front shocks fitted with new fluid an anti rollbar and a host of bushes not to mention a £1200 suspension brain. Not one to be a party pooper but the service manager is looking at buying a private jet out of my hard earned And all the while my beloved cruiser rides about aswell as an 83 BX. So any ideas on specialists or pattern parts that would help to keep the toyota wolves from the door would be greatly appreciated.thanks |

£2400 is a bit on the dear side. Maybe if its including work. Here the 4 globes where about 1800 back in Dec -05, when I changed mine. I got a set of 2nd hand ones instead, for a 1/4 of that. Piece of cake to change them btw.
Brain? ECU? Why? Are they sure?
Front shocks. Right, that's what they told me as well, before they found out what AHC is.... Well they never found out, in fact. (probably didn't join that course, or had too much liquid food simultaneously)
How many miles do you have?
PS: Heard that there is a way to recharge the Nitrogen Spheres. Drilling a hole, fitting a valve, and filling to specified pressure (whatever that might be), if the membranes still hold. This is sourced from the ih8mud site. _________________ 2004 HDJ100 AHC Auto 160'km, ex 2000 HDJ100, ex 1997 HZJ80GX Africa edition. |
