Heard they are standard in Japan, and seen them discussed on Mud. Suggest you have a look there. Think there was a Japanese American with the user-name MOT who had some first hand experience with them.
Used some blind-spot add-ons stuck to the outer, lower corner of the normal mirrors on my corolla. Worked well for 3 lane highways.
