Thoughts:

Of course it's nicer to drive if it's chipped, provided the box does it's job correctly.  More power, picking up better, more torque.

But, if u use that extra power (of course you would, what's the point otherwise), you will have more wear:
- On the driveline, joints & bearings, diffs, CVs, what else?
- on the transmission, oil & lock-up clutch
- On the engine, bearings, rings & cylinder walls
- What else?

Some say the LC is so overengineered that it can take it.
Maybe it is, but more wear anyhow.
Fuel savings are only theoretical. If u use extra power, it will drink more, not less.

Is it worth it?

For me, the answer would be maybe, if I can use it sparingly.

Other views would be appreciated.

Just bought one today off e bay a steinbaur PS Box, will let you know what its like when it turns up.  Had one on an ML a couple of years ago and it really made a difference in acceleration, didnt do much for the fuel consumption tho.
Will see what this one's like and report back

You will get more power but.... to get more power you will use more fuel, different tuners use different maps to achieve this, not all are equal , the best type are the remapable type, cause then you can put it on a rolling road and set it up to match the engine in your paticular vehicle and check the fueling as its working.

Hi All

Getting closer to installing the chippy thing
Does anyone know the best place to "tap" into the red/yellow cable in the engine bay.  (apparently its the potentiometer of the accelerator cable).
Just thought if you know where it will save me ripping up the loom in the wrong place.
Thanks
