Hello all...

I have just acquired a BJ73 1988, I am very happy with it… except it needs a few items looking at ready for the winter dog runs...

The engine is a VM95, 2.5 TD… I might change to a 13B-t or 14B-t at some stage (next year or later) if I can find one but until then I need to do some protection work on the VM.

Simple one… Dip stick - The rubber plug slides up and down the dip stick so is next to useless!!!

Does someone know the part and place to order a new one or the correct position or length of one?

Plenty of white smoke on start-up, runs rough for a min with some smoke the ok…. glow plug issue on a cylinder ??

It has had an extra oil cooler added (need to fix it correctly as its just sitting on the chassis) but should I remove or leave it? It's a mercedes make, origin unknown but this is an imported Spanish car so is it really needed in the UK???

The Rev Counter - is this on an electrical feed taken from the alternator it stopped after 10min of driving?

Does anyone have manuals or could point me in the direction of some.. this is my first Toyota ….

Any suggested parts suppliers (new and 2nd hand) as I will need some seals and other bits and bobs over time etc…
