I have a 1995 Land Cruiser and sometimes it will not turn over (like there is no power) after I have shut it off after a long/hot drive. I have replaced the starter/solenoid, the neutral safety switch and the battery. What's odd is that if you wait 5-15 minutes, it will start. What is the problem? It's been doing this for several years (30,000 miles...) |

We need to know a bit more about the truck, model and engine and does it have one or two batteries. _________________ It's Not a Bl**dy Jeep it's a Landcruiser

Have you checked all earth leads from the engine to body, also clean the battery leads, other than that I'm not sure as not good with electrics. _________________ It's Not a Bl**dy Jeep it's a Landcruiser

You say sometimes but not always. Is there a common denominator here. As an automatic, it should have an inhibitor switch to prevent starting in drive. Maybe the switch is not properly set.

Had a similar problem with a shogun,it turned out it was the battery connector,it was only losing 10amp from terminal to battery and caused very similar problems, took a sparky to find it,we checked if it was tight couldn't move it but it just wasn't connecting all the way round properly, worth a check with a volt meter to eliminate it.
Good luck buddy. _________________ 1997 Lc 90 lwb 3.0 td auto |
