|
|
Hi Guys... need some help. On my Landcruiser Amazon.
When I turn the steering to the extreme left or right I hear a clank which sounds like metal against metal. This happens especially when turning extreme and going over a bump or pothole. My mechanic says that a rubber cap has worn out on a particular point. Here's the picture where the cap is supposed to be (circled in red) and the circle in green shows the place where it's hitting against.
He says the solution is just to grease this part... but the grease wears off in a week or so...
Does anyone know what this cap is and where I can get them from - or a part number, etc?
Oops - can't seem to attach an image. _________________ Landcruiser 100 Series Amazon 2004 (Ex. UK)

Hi,
Is it shown here ??
The only part I can see that might be relevant is top left of the diagram . . .
48331D / 48331E - Bumper, Front Spring No.1 RH/LH
If its here you can see the part number .

I believe it is the Bolt Round Hexagon (steering knuckle stopper) 43211G. My mechanic says that there is some sort of a rubber bush on this bolt which eventually wears out. _________________ Landcruiser 100 Series Amazon 2004 (Ex. UK)

Well, cheap enough to replace anyway (I wish all problems were as cheap to repair ).

Well... I'm not missing the part...
Can anyone confirm if this stopper has some sort of a rubber or plastic cap?
Thanks. _________________ Landcruiser 100 Series Amazon 2004 (Ex. UK)

I would, but I've lost my '100' .
I guess my daughter will return it when I've replaced the rear wheel bearings in her RAV-4 .
