I have a 1998 100 series Landcruiser Amazon 4.2 automatic just coming up to 180 k miles. A fantastic vehicle, still looks great, totally reliable. Basic service quite regularly, timing belt and injector pipes replaced at 90k miles, some 6 years ago. Recently, it has just cut out whilst driving along. I pull over, go into Park and then just turn on the ignition again and we are away, everything fine. This has happened four times in the past month. Not happened since just before 90k service. Any suggestions what or why this is happening! What should I get done at this service? Timing belt? What else? All my servicing done by very competent reliable mechanic working for himself but want Landcruiser owners experience and advice. Love my car, want it to go on for ever. Thanks |

Sorry for the delay.
If it splutters and then dies. look at the fuel supply.
If it cuts out sharply, look for an electrical fault.
Which one is it?
