Hi all
This is a follow on of my previous post (Hight adjust light stuck on low and off button flashing car stuck in low)
I Have taken it to a Toyota dealer today and they have told me the real os shock has gone, they want £1,000 to fit a new one and also I might have damaged the pump £3,500 are they having a laugh at my expence?
How much do shocks cost and where from? and are they easy to fit?
Any help would be aprichated. |

Check out Milners 4x4 online to order shock Hopefully someone on the Forum will be able to suggest a reliable mechanic near to you I would get a second opinion ( Not Toyota) just to confirm that it is the shock If it is then a relatively easy fix and reasonably cheap.Post a help call on the Gdneral section of forum asking for recommended mechanics in your area
Good luck and keep us informed |

Hogman, I just bought a couple of rear shocks off www.milneroffroad.com as trydeep suggested, about £120ish like he said, they were genuine Toyota ones as well. There is generally no need to pay Toyota's exorbitant prices for anything (except maybe AHC pipes)
I'd say £80 to get one fitted would be a bargain too.
Good luck. |

Sorry for the late reply, a update on the problem it was the rear shocks had gone and because they were hydraulic Toyota wanted £900 to fir one, I had both done from a guy near me who used a disc cutter to cut them in half and pull them out, and supplied and fitted 2 both for £800.
All is working fine now, thanks for everyones input.
