Dear owners club members,

I have read the constant posts and aware of the sensor faults on the 120 series air suspension. Below I describe the fault with my 2005 Landcruiser does any one know if this is a sensor or an ECU fault?

It will adjust height normally through Low /normal and High, and doesn't stick in a particular position.

Over night it drop right down and it can be reset by pressing Low /normal and High when started.

once it has been started the left hand side drops a little and the right drops to level off, kind of see saws its way down until its completely down. Hitting the level button again to 'H' takes it back up and resets it again, but it then see saws its way down again so by the time you have driven 30 mins you have to stop to re-level.

All hoses have been check and no air leaks etc.

it's suggested that its the left hand sensor that's faulty as it drops first followed by the right one that tries to level off the car.

Any other suggestions - Sensor or ECU?

thanks

I've no knowledge of the LC5 suspension (I bought an LC4 especially so I had conventional suspension).

I've just checked the (australian) Haynes manual and it doesn't seem to cover it - maybe they don't have that option down under.

Sorry not to be able to help.  But welcome to the forum.

If the repair costs do start getting silly, you can convert to traditional suspension - one of the specialists sells a kit.  But hopefully it'll just be something relatively simple and someone will be along shortly who is more help than me!

We need an edit button!

Or you could save a little money by building up the front struts yourself.  http://www.pedders.co.uk/air-suspension-conversion-kit-with-foam-cell-shocks-for-toyota-lc5--prado--landcruiser-120-series_p31167866.htm

Is this the £350 sensor you are talking about?
