Hello all,

I am looking for a vehicle to begin my (and kids) overland adventures (inc greenlaning), beginning in UK first and then the world is our Oyster! I've been looking at Series 2 Disco's but has always had a soft spot for Land Cruisers, but know very little about them!

Looking through Wiki there are a lot of versions of the Land Cruisers through the years, J70, J80 and J100 the eras i am looking into; but reading posts on here a J90 appeared!? How many different versions are there?!?!

I am looking for a vehicle I can enhance and total budget is approx £10k for vehicle and mods. Mods I like are lifting kits (suspension including), snorkel, winch and anything else to give a bit of an aggressive look.......

What version of the Land Cruiser would people suggest for my budget? This will only be used as a weekend car

Look forward to hearing from you

Chris

Pretty much all of the models of LC that you mantioned are good and reliable, however it all depends on a condition of the vehicle that you will find. Keep in mind that first of all you will have to do the full mantanance to make sure that your Land Cruiser will not let you down on a long trip. Modding goes only after that and certainly it's not cheap Smile

I would pick a vehicle for the half of your budget and spent another half on parts and modding.
