Does anyone know whether the brown element in the rear left window is a demister or the aerial.

I originally thought that it was a demister and wondered why it was only on the left-hand side (and why it wasn't working!!) but I'm sure recently that I've read something that suggests it's the aerial?

Thought I'd check before getting the garage to look at it during it's service next week!

Many thanks.

It's the aerial.  There's also an aerial amplifier up that way somewhere.

i am a little suspect about my aerial on the window, is there a way of testing these or is it just a case of mount another aerial  and see if reception improves

Hi Jet you can try this; Over time your car radio may start having reception problems and you'll need to determine the cause. Radio signals picked up by the antenna mast travel through an antenna cable to the radio. You will not receive a clear AM or FM signal for some or all stations on the radio if there is interference anywhere from the antenna mast to the radio. You can easily determine if there's an interference by using an ohmmeter. Although your probably better off trying another aerial. Good luck fella
