|
|
At long last, i have now sent my 1973 FJ40 that i personally imported last July to get MOT'd. With intention of getting it finally registered here in the UK, can anyone offer me some help in ensuring i dont get a dreaded "Q" plate as the vechile does not have its original registration from Oz. also its fitted with a 302 Chevy V8 and apperantly toyota UK cant help me with the VIN no FJ40 153279 as its from Australia and they have no records of it. i understand i do not need to get it SVA's etc..just an MOT. but i am trying to complete V55/5 DVLA form and it tries to either relate to a cert of conformity which i dont have and cant get from Toyota Oz .
any help or advice much appreciated thanks Jon.

Its a European Cert of Conformity - as your car is non-European you wont get one.
I believe that SVA is the only way you can do this, although am happy to be told otherwise.
5 litre Chevy engine, interesting choice. Is that injected or carbs?

Sorry, ignore SVA - vehicle is over 10 yrs.
Cant see a way round the Q plate without Toyota supplying the build data to prove its age.
On a positive note, I'm sure Q plates have easier mot's !!

As the vehicle is over 10 years, you only need to fill in about 10 boxes on the form. The rest of it can be left blank.
From memory
VIN Number
Date of manufacture (if known)
Number of seats
axle plan: 2 Axle Rigid
Body Type: 2 door/3 door etc Car
Engine CC
Country imported from
You'll also need to fill in the vat form (from DVLA) that all duties have been paid.
Find your local DVLA office & head on down, they are generally very helpful & will help you fill out the forms there & then. Do you have a copy of the its original reg doc? |
