Hi all, I have just purchased a 2000 model LC100 4.2VX.  I can turn on the cruse control that lights up on dash from the stalk but cannot set the speed.

I have done a diagnostic off the OBD & have codes "P1633 [ECM malfunction (ETCS circuit)] & B2799 [Engine immobiliser system], however the car drives well without any signs of problems apart from the cruse control.

I have checked on the web & found a Toyota fault P1633 indicates "Accelerator. Pedal Pos. Sensor 2 signal too low".  Has anyone had a similar fault?  &  does anyone know what is the resistance should be across the throttle position sensor (potentiometer)?

It is an interesting problem as the car drives well without any symptoms of sensor or ECU problems.
The previous owner said that the cruse control was working fine when he had it, but he did fit new batteries to the car, & was wondering if the power was lost to the ECU & thus lost data or worse - spiked out the ECU.  I also had to replace the two steering column adjustment motors, but i cannot see how this could impact the cruse control.

I look forward to your opinions on this & thanks for any help.....
