Just joined as I hope to be getting a 91 , 4.2 VX very soon, it was going to be a surf until I read up on the cylinder head problems, will read on now in the tech stuff see what i'm getting into. not new to 4wd , had most makes already over the years, but just got a new puppy and fancied a 4wd again to take him into some remote muddy places where he can stretch his legs, also want to get him into green laning |

I believe that the head problems with the Hilux Surf were confined to the 2.4 litre and that the 3.0 litre was little affected.
I have a nice 1994 3.0.litre Surf SSRX Limited, Turbo, automatic currently for sale should you be interested.
I have recently sold my 80 series 4.2 VX and upgraded to a 2003 100 series 4.2 Turbo diesel. |
