Hi all
I have had no joy being able to read the codes from my obd11. Bought a cheap reader, been to mr t and my mechanics snap on.
I'm thinking about buying the tech stream but does anyone have any advise or have had any results with it

It looks as though you're on your own with this one  Rolling Eyes  Wink.

I bought a Toyota Intelligent Tester II from someone you know (he offered you the use of it earlier this year) but I haven't tried using it yet. The User Manual is doing my head in but one day I must plug it in and play with it.

My local garage has what they claim is an "all singing, all dancing" fault code reader (though they weren't able to sort out an issue with my daughter's RAV4 - I did that by reading the User Manual  Laughing). Is there anyone near you that could do a diagnostic check ??

We have similar issues with fault codes on BMW Motorcycles. I get the feeling that Fault Code Reading is an "Iceberg Issue" - with far more below the surface than one realises.

Bob.

My mechanic has an all dining all dancing code reader but that won't hook up to mine hence I got tech stream.
But I read that people read the fault code via tech stream but I cannot get mine to find the ecu.
Which leads me to believe that either the ecu is getting no power it its bust

Are you managing to connect OK?

What response do you get when trying to do a Health Check?

Finally you need to be aware that the dates are in US format (year/month) so when selecting the age of the one you have make sure you get the right date.

Once connected, if you can't get in to the AHC error codes, try to get in to the live data screen - Techstream struggles if there are more than 6 errors -you can tell via the error count on the live data screen.

If there are say 7 errors, you should be able to clear them and then re-test - the test may work this time.

The chances are that if you have an AHC problem and there are consistently that many errors it could well be that the pump is worn and unable to get up to pressure properly which triggers cascading errors.

Try that and let us know how you get on.
