Right so my speedo stopped working on my auto 2003 lc4 also the abs vsc lights etc came on as well. So I'm assuming there may be a fault with the vehicle speed sensor. Now a bit of googling came up with a location at the back of the gearbox by the prop , it shows a three pin type sensor with a nylon gear etc. https://www.pradopoint.com.au/filedata/fetch?id=653820&d=1467877277 Roughtrax list this type of sensor for my vehicle. Mine does not have this sensor at that possition.....so where is it or is it a different type of sensor?? Any help much appreciated |

All there is on the transfer box is a large square black box which I guess is the electronic centre diff and that's it. Even the Ellery book shows the sensor on the output shaft but not on mine. I will try and post pics but can't remember how! So how does it detect the speed does it use the wheel sensors? |

I would think it's behind that black box, looks like it goes in from the side near propshaft, see Here _________________ It's Not a Bl**dy Jeep it's a Landcruiser

Found a forum that is of the opinion that this type of LC uses the wheel sensors to calculate the speed. So ideally I need to scan the car, sadly I can't seem to get techstream to run...will have to go to the garage |
