Hi all, hope to be a proper member soon, currently a wannabe member!

Mini saga, 3 different mid size SUVs have died in my posession, it is a good job there isn't an RSPCA for cars! Most recent Santa Fe, engine seized, hated the car anyway.   My mechanic and I have decided that for the job I want an LC is the best bet!

I need (for various reasons)
3.5t Towing capacity
Off road capabilty
Decent inside space for car camping

All of which I am promised an LC can do!

Is it acceptable to ask random questions in here?! I'm literally starting my shopping journey and a few queries have popped up!

So I have a meh budget - £10,000 tops.
Looking at this my options are limited to circa millenium models, and 4l models as the 3l doesn't tow 3.5.  Does this sound right?

If I get a model with 3rd row seats can these be taken out without 'modification' as far as insurance goes?

What's the highest mileage you would risk?

Am I crazy getting a 20 year old car when I can get a 12 year old touareg or X5.

Are parts for the older models easy to get?
