The seats in my 2001 Colorado GX are looking a bit tired after 100K Miles. They have a few cigarette burns in them, as do the door cards*. The structure of the driver's seat is gone. What are my options in terms of replacing them? It's an Irish commercial conversion i.e. only two seats.
- I don't want after market seats because I believe they will depereciate the car.
- I had been thinking of sourcing from a breakers yard but am worried about the safety implications of using seats from a crashed car.
- I could get the original seats re-upholstered and get the door cards done at the same time. This looks like a viable option.
- Another option is to source new Landcruiser seats from Toyota. This is also viable but may end up ching ching expensive.
Obviously I would love to have a leather interior so if this is possible within the budget then I would go for it. I'm willing to spend up to about £600/€1,000.
*I bought the car at 97K. Cigarette burns are not from me. |

Sorry, I just realised quite how dead this forum is. I had originally been considering a Surf and there owner's club is hyperactive. Had been expecting same for Landcruiser. I haven't bought anything yet, have an offer of a full interior from a crashed LWB for £400. Shipping it would be a problem and I only need front seats.
Edit: Oh yeah, new seats BTW are €1200+ EACH!
Reupholstering was €1100. |
