Hi,I,m going to upgrade my LC lj70 with another engine ,but did anybody know if I can put 3.0td on my LC lj70(2.4) using the same gear boxe???
Or I need to replace and gearbox too? Also the engine mounts...are they will fit? In other way, what is this job envolved with?
Thanks Rumen.

There is a good chance they both use a R151F gearbox but with other Landcruiser gearboxes this does not always guarantee compatabilty.

I say this because the input shaft could be a different length and maybe has a different spline count.

If the new engine is a 1KZ T ,then I think you will need to change the mounts.
When I needed to shift the engine mounts in my swap(3F to 1HZ) I ground and chisselled the mounts off a wreck and welded them on.

You will also need to check the inlet /outlet positions on the radiator

The gearbox on my KZJ 70 is a R 150 F but the manual covers the 141,150 and 151 under the same heading. They probably differ only in ratios.

The 141 is a 4 sp.
