hi everybody ive just bought a 1998 landcruiser its a 3.4 vx  100000 miles runs really well i paid £2800 is that good, is there anything i should check or look out for apart from the normal servicing, i need it for towing my caravan it goes 1700 klgs. is that ok ive been towing with a pajero up to now. cheers mick.

I have the same machine.
A new centre box ( Big one ) will not be cheap - somebody local might make up a stainless jobbie for you.
The starter motor packed up at 135,000 and its a B******D to replace.
Handbrake mechanisms on the hub have a habit of ceasing up - especially in the winter.
Rusted out rear diff cover - oil piddled out. New axle £700 ish !!!
I can't see anything better out there though.
