colorado land cruiser acceleration problem?

Friend of mine has a toyota colorado land cruiser think its 1999/2000 and basically whats.happening.he can.be driving.normally and if he puts foot down to pickup speed the car will just go.. Rum rum rum rum as if its limited or something? Toyota themselves think its an ecu but ecu's dont just go out.. What do you guys think?

Sounds like a fuel supply problem, like the fuel pickup pipe filter in the tank, or corrosion of the fuel pipe on top of the tank, also think there is a small filter just where the fuel pipe goes into the pump.

Hmmm injectors then or just basically what you said.. Just got more info thag toyota said that the accelerator is electronic.. And thaf its getting a low voltage to the ecu or whatever if thats right?

It's the fuel Pump mate. The spill control valve may be operating slower than normal.

There are two filters inside the fuel pump that get clogged up over time, and can lead to these symptoms. Take them out and clean them and see. It cost nothing
