You won't get one 'off the shelf'.  Best bet is to get a Bosch dealer to supply the plate or get one from someone that breaks LCs

The "advanced cold start device" advances the fuel pump timing on a cold start to cut down on hydrocarbon emissions. It is activated by another device called the "thermowax" which is heated by coolant as the engine warms up and deactivates the ACSD,bringing it back to its warm position.
When the ACSD gets a bit old it can rattle and break off inside the pump doing untold damage, although it gives you fair warning.
The blanking plate is common to many denso and bosch rotary fuel pumps and after removing the ACSD,it is fitted to cover the hole left behind.
There are no side affects from removing the ACSD,but some owners have noticed a smokier cold start.

I wouldnt pay much for one, most shops have a stack of these hanging around from dead fuel pumps, someone gave me a handfull for nothing

You can see the blanking plate fitted here in the bottom left hand side ,its got 2 allen screws holding it in.
You also need the o ring if you remove the ACSD

Does this mod not affect the injection timing? I would have thought thats how it works. Does the pump need re timing by a diesel shop?
My 95 12V 80 has the ACSD buzz at start up but goes off quite soon, I would prefer to repair the pump to original than mod it ,does anyone
know if it is a specialist job with expensive parts or can it be fitted by someone fairly competent?
Any help appreciated.

As I mentioned in thew above post,it only works to advance the pump timing while the engine is COLD.The pump does not need any adjustments when the ACSD removed.

It can be repaired by any competant mechanic and a few owners have also tackled it with success.I doubt its the only fuel injection pump that uses this system.

Is the "buzz" more of a high speed rattle? If so fix it soon. The noise could also be the timer piston which is in the same area.
