I have the engine warning light illuminated.
Thought i would try one of these OBD plug in scanners to get the code for the problem.
Ive found the OBD port by the foot brake pedal.  When i try to Foseal OBD2 scanner is tells me it's connected, but the car is not communicating.
Is there a way to know for sure the car is OBD compliant?

Hi, even though they class the socket as OBD I don't think they are true OBD so any plug in scanner won't work, they only one that works it the Toyota
Kit(Sorry cannot remember what its called)

The system is M-OBD which requires a special scanner,  Mini VCI and TechStream is made specifically for the MOBD.

Many thanks for the replies.
I can't find a scanner that seems to relate to M-OBD.
Do you think this would work?
"Mini VCI 16 PIN OBD2 USB J2534 Diagnosis Cable for TOYOTA TIS Techstream Cable Techstream & Software "

Thanks Andy. I was wary of these as they seem to relate again to OBD2 again.
