I have replaced the nearside battery on the Colorado with a new , fully charged unit . When it is connected the hazard lights start flashing after about 20 seconds and continue until the engine has been runnung for about a minute . This does not happen when the nearside battery is removed . Is there something which needs to be reset ? Any help appreciated . |

It's always a good move to replace both batteries when one goes, as now the older one will drag the new one down, but saying that the hazards should not flash as you describe, so I believe that the alarm should have an internal back up battery, never had to take one apart but it's worth checking. _________________ It's Not a Bl**dy Jeep it's a Landcruiser

I think you could be spot on Andy . I now know that the flashers start when any door is opened and continue for about 20 seconds then stop . It looks like something in the alarm system . Thanks for your help . |

Andy is 100% correct with battery replacement.
Does the alarm actually work ? Just wondering if the flashing hazards are part of the alarm system malfunctioning since battery change. Which terminals did you disconnect first, then reconnect on battery changeover ?
Karl's question could be relavent about battery voltage here. |
