This may be a very dumb question.... but here goes.

How can I verify that my 4WD is engaging on my LJ70?
Steps (they may not be in the right order but here goes):
1.  Lock the hubs
2.  Push the 4wd button on the lower right of the dash (below and to the right of the steering wheel).  This operates the vacuum switch to engage the 4WD?
On my car the light does not illuminate... could just be the bulb.
3. Engage 4 high on the transfer case
4. Drive fwd and back a few meters to engage the manual hubs.
That should be it?

I can't tell any difference when I do that, which suggests to me that 4WD is not operating.

Perhaps if I had a vehicle hoist and could get all 4 wheels off the ground then if it is working then all 4 wheels should rotate?
But I dont' have access to one, and slightly concerned re- the safety of doing that.

Any other options?
