Hi I have a 2015 2.8 150 series that seems to be drinking adblue like crazy.
The warning came on 2/3000 miles ago and i put 10 litres in. then it came on again 500 miles ago so i put another 5 litres in and its just come on again .
In addition the other day i left the engine running for 5 mids and when i came back the engine management light was on so i plugged a cheap bluetooth obd reader in and found and cleared a P202D code. Its not come on before or since.
Any advice welcome.
Thanks |

My 2016 2.8 started using 1 litre of Adblue per 50 miles. Turned out to be a loose Adblue injector, as locking nut was not tightened. |

Trucks can get through serious amounts of adblu in cold weather, nothing to see 10+ litres used every day @ 44 ton running, so your consumption doesn't seem that high to me.
I've known a truck to stop using adblue completely, the outside temp gauge was failing and showing gradually increasing temps, even in cooler weather it would be reading 45'C+, it turns out the outside temp gauge is responsible for a lot that goes on re fuelling and emission control, worth checking if your outside temp gauge is showing correctly, that adblue usage might be responding correctly to what it assumes is a very cold temp. |
