Hi Guys
There's nothing wrong with my 2.4 Prado yet, however as the reputation for head failures is quite bad, has anybody fitted a Daihatsu 2.8 engine to replace the broken Toyota engine. I love my old Prado and if I need to change engines to keep it then I guess thats what will have to be done. Thats if the Daihatsu engine will fit without too much hassle.

Some diahatsu's ,if not all,use Toyota engines. They are owned by Toyota.
I think the 2.8 you referred to is a 3L used in some Hilux ,Hiace,Surf and Dyna.

A lot of owners fit the 2.8 cyl head to the 2.4 .
