Hey all, now that harvest is nearly over does anyone fancy doing the plain like we did in the end of June?
I fancy getting the latest OS map and charting some lanes which we can overlay on the old PC for people who have never done it as handouts.
Someone on the last run said he could get hold of the proper range maps, can't remember who though.

Cheers

If you bring as much biltong as last time i'll change all the punctures you want.
Have you uprated the tyres yet?

Biltong will be supplied. Wink

No, I ended up replacing it with the same. Wallet refused to do any more. Mistake in hindsight...

I'm game again,

It is Tommo who has the range maps. Large scale and very detailed.

Have to be after Lincomb by a couple of weeks at least.

Hi folks

Any more thoughts on this one?

I am a bit skint now after Lincomb but should be okay for the end of October/start of November.

Busaboy, I will get Tommo to let me have the maps and if possible I will post you a copy before we do it.

Hey

Im definitely up for it as long as its not this weekend. I dont have a CB or PMR radio. Is this essential kit? When we went green laning last weekend i had a borrowed PMR radio which worked OKish (got lost once as most of us were on CBs). I will try to get one soon...

Hopefully i will have some rock sliders by then as well Smile

Don't worry about the CB too much Rob. We tend to put those without in the middle to prevent us getting split up.
We also take it easy so there is no rush to catch the leader.

Plenty of brew stops aswell Laughing

Hi,

Aly and I will be up for this jaunt depending on dates. I also have the Large Scale Range Map if necessary and would be prepared to lead a group if required.

Wow, such a response Smile
I'll try to sort some dates, should be moving house soon but the Plain is more important lol
We could do a pub meet first if there are maps and things to exchange, anyone who hasent been before could ask their questions too or exchange of ideas?

Oops my post here seems to have disappeared  Confused  Anyway, I am also up for an outing to the Plain, obviously date-dependent. I should have my remaining few hub "issues" sorted out this weekend.

I did find quite a lot of sharp bits of pale flint stuck in the tread of my front tyres when I had them off for my front axle overhaul... A couple of cuts in the tyres too, which are probably courtesy of the Plain. Fortunately most of the cuts are into lugs, so make no difference!

Cheers,
